Tontex Sky Tower is the most highest building in Kaohsiung City, and the seconde highest in Taiwan. It has totally 85 floors overground, so in Kaohsiung we just call it 85 floors.
Part of Tontex is "The Splendor" hotel (from 38F ~ 85F), and from 2F~7F were a department store before, but it had closed couple years ago, it is still empty now. Other stairs are rented as office or "illegal short-term B&B" (bed & breakfast, but maybe without breakfast? )
I went to there couple days ago for enjoying the casual night. Frankly, this was my first time to get the fantastic view of my city! Honestly, the observation deck there is a little old, and not too many people or tourists come there. I think there are lot of reasons behind the fact. However, I still recommend you come to this place to get the whole scene of Kaohsiung City, no matter in the morning, afternoon, or night. You will get different experience.
